An Outpatient Coder - QA Ancillaries reviews medical records to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient services, ensuring compliance with guidelines. This role involves quality assurance audits, resolving coding issues, collaborating with healthcare providers and billing staff, and maintaining documentation to uphold coding accuracy and standards.

Requirements:
Demonstrates strong domain knowledge in accurately identifying patient diagnoses and aligning treatments or diagnostic studies ordered by physicians with the appropriate ICD-10 codes.
Responsible for delivering high-quality diagnosis coding with proper sequencing in accordance with ICD-10 guidelines and project specifications, including coding for bedside procedures.
Involves coding for ancillary services such as laboratory tests, X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and physical therapy.
Experience in coding for outpatient and ancillary services is preferred, with certification from AAPC or AHIMA being advantageous. Relevant certifications include CPC, COC, CIC, or CCS.
Familiarity with EPIC and 3M software is considered a valuable asset.
