They ensure compliance with coding guidelines issued by regulatory bodies such as CMS and AHA, and conduct regular quality assurance audits to detect errors or discrepancies in coding practices. Additionally, they provide feedback to coders, assist with clinical documentation improvement efforts, and help resolve queries related to missing or unclear information. Their role is critical in maintaining coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and optimizing revenue cycle management for healthcare facilities.

Requirements:
Must hold a relevant coding certification (e.g., IP, OP, RA, etc.)
Expertise in inpatient DRG coding is required
Experience in facility coding is essential

Strong knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology is required
